How many different darknesses of window film do I have to choose from?

Here at Blair's Texas Window Tinting we deal in several of the most popular darknesses that we keep in stock. The number shown below represents the total amount of light transmission that will pass through the film and they are as follows :

High End Carbon Base Window Film

# 35% darkness - Is one of our most popular and used film. This film type (dyed) is the darkest that can be used on law restricted windows here in Texas and most other states. We know your wondering why not use 25% since the Texas law states 25%, but the equation to meet the current Texas net law is as follows:

Most vehicles come with 70% within the glass to begin with. When you add 35% on top of it, the total of both combined is 25% (.35 X .70 = 24.5% [25% when rounded up]). It gives a medium darkness appearance. If used on all windows, cars have that nice smooth classy medium tinted O.E.M. look.

**Note** There is no available darkness choice between this 35% dyed film type and the 18% dyed film type shown below however, lighter films are available on special order and can usually have it in our hands within 24 hours...

# 18% darkness - Is also a most popular and used film. This film darkness appears dark and is what we use mostly when people request to use darker film on windows allowed by law (usually juuust right when going darker where allowed to by law). Usually used on large, long sloping rear windshields and on unrestricted windows on trucks and S.U.V.s. Night vision is still good.

# 5% darkness - Is our darkest film. This film darkness appears really dark and is what we use mostly when people request to use the darkest available film on unrestricted windows allowed by law. This is what is typically used on limousines, work vehicles, sunroofs, etc.....
