In the upcoming information, pay close attention to your law being a net law or a film law (big difference).
A film law is referring to just the film darkness itself that is used.
A net law is referring to film plus what is in the glass to begin with (usually 70% if it looks clear un-filmed). Take for example, here in Texas, the law is a net law stating 25% on restricted windows. This does not mean to use a 25% film. You have to use a 35% film (lighter) to combine with the 70% that's already there to achieve a 25% darkness. I.E. .70(%) X .35(%) = 24.5(%)...
Remember, the lower the % number, the darker the film... The number represents the amount of total light allowed through...
